Donna Parker
Donna Parker is an Attendance and Family Support Lead specialising in multi-agency collaboration to provide holistic support for the most vulnerable children and young people.
With 20 years experience working as an Educational Welfare Officer before progressing onto senior management roles, supporting vulnerable children and young people, Donna has honed her expertise in improving school attendance. She is passionate about addressing and overcoming barriers that prevent children from engaging in education. Donna is dedicated to enhancing the life of each child while staying committed to safeguarding and responsible information sharing.
Donna supports schools through strategic interventions and ensuring families are supported, receiving guidance and help to overcome challenges to school attendance.
Educational Welfare Officer
Claire Smout
Claire is a compassionate Educational Welfare Officer with over three decades of experience, dedicated to the well-being and success of every pupil. With a background in teaching and having progressed to Deputy Head at Great Malvern Primary School, Claire has honed her ability to help pupils and their families overcome educational barriers.
She works closely with families to address attendance issues, offering personalised support while bridging the gap between school and home to create a nurturing, inclusive environment. Known for her warmth, ability to connect with pupils and colleagues, and her deep knowledge of the education system, Claire excels at building relationships, maximising resources, and fostering a strong sense of community.
Driven by her commitment to safeguarding, well-being, and the holistic development of every pupil, Claire's greatest reward is seeing pupils thrive.
